Resorts in Puerto Plata Dominican Republic
Puerto Plata beaches occupy the Dominican Republic’s north coast. They are some of the most popular beaches in the Dominican Republic, which also means they are well-developed with plenty of all inclusive resorts, restaurants, shopping options, and more. Though popular, the beaches remain relatively uncrowded compared to some of the other beach areas around the island. Tall, coconut palms, dozens of white-sand beaches, warm, clear water, and plenty of sights and attractions draw thousand of sun-lovers to the Dominican Republic each year.
Playa Luperon
Almost one mile in length, Playa Luperon is situation on the Atlantic Ocean with beautiful coconut palms lining the beach. Swimming conditions are just okay, but if you want to snorkel, dive, or windsurf, you’ll be in for excellent experiences. Beach loungers, umbrellas, seaside bars, and plenty of watersport equipment rentals are available.
Playa Sosua
Playa Sosua is one of the top beaches in Puerto Plata Dominican Republic and also one of the biggest attractions on the Atlantic Ocean in the Caribbean. Slightly more than ten miles from the city of Puerto Plata, Sosua features calm, azure water, many large, all inclusive resorts, excellent dining options, and plenty of things to do. Snorkel, sunbathe, scuba dive, and water-ski in and around this beach.
Playa Grande
A golden stretch almost one mile long, Playa Grande offers experienced swimmers ideal conditions. The beach is fairly quiet, making it a great spot to sunbathe and rest. Day tours to Puerto Plata city and Samana are popular daytime excursions.
Playa Boca Chica
A cove roughly one-mile wide creates Playa Boca Chica and the crescent-shaped reef about a quarter mile away from the shore is ideal for snorkeling. Kayaking, canoeing, paddle boating and banana boat rides are popular. The protected cove creates a natural swimming pool, which is shallow making it popular with families.
Playa Dorada
East of the main city lies Playa Dorada, featuring the largest cache of resorts in Puerto Plata Dominican Republic. The backdrop offers a country-club feel, with resorts and hotels dispersed among a verdant setting. Main attractions include the Robert Trent Jones Sr. golf course, deep sea fishing, diving, snorkeling, and many other watersports and activities
