Fund a surgery. Change a life.

Thousands of women in the Dominican Republic are suffering from preventable or easily treatable health issues resulting from childbirth and age. Many can't access the care they need because they live in rural areas, far from hospitals, and don't have the resources to travel or pay.

Enter Saving Mothers. We're a U.S. nonprofit that makes it possible for highly-trained surgeons, nurses and medical staff to treat women in need and dramatically improve their quality of life. This March, we'll be sending a team to a remote region of the D.R. to provide surgery to nearly 100 women - most of whom have never seen a doctor.

By providing education, outreach and surgical care right in the rural communities where women live, Saving Mothers is spreading the word: Health care is the right of every woman, no matter where she lives or how much money she has.

What You Can Do

Saving Mothers' team of physicians works on a completely volunteer basis in order to provide life-changing care at zero cost to the women who need it.

To make this possible, we need your help to gather the surgical supplies, transport our team, and run two clean, safe operating rooms. To give you a sense of our costs:

$50 = Roundtrip transportation for 1 woman to receive surgical care
$250 = A bundle of surgical drapes, sutures, scalpels and more
$500 = Sponsoring a physician to provide free surgical care
$1, 000 = A set of vital medical devices to permanently improve women's lives
$5, 000 = Operations for over 10 patients
$20, 000 = Funds our entire Dominican Republic campaign

All of your funds will go directly toward patient transport and care.

Your Impact

Saving Mothers has done meaningful work in the Dominican Republic since 2012. In that time, we have provided care to over 1, 500 patients and surgeries and procedures for over 200 patients.

Other Ways You Can Help

No donation is too small or too large. Every little bit helps!

If you cannot give at this time, please help us spread the word about this fundraising campaign.
