Todd brings more than 10 years of higher education experience working with students, faculty and staff members with disabilities. He earned his BS in Political Science and BA in Sociology from Drake University, and is completing his MS in Education Educational Leadership and Policy Studies) at Iowa State University. Prior to entering higher education, he worked as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Counselor, with a primary focus on dual-diagnosed adults. Todd has spoken at numerous national conferences, and has multiple publications covering issues of social justice, access for persons with disabilities, student identity development, and student affairs best practices. Advises both undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities regarding disability assessment, documentation, and academic accommodations Reviews documentation and works with students to determine appropriate academic accommodations. Consults with faculty and staff to facilitate implementation of students' accommodations. Consults with prospective students and their families about disability-related issues Investigates and implements various forms of assistive technology. Staff Advisor for the Black Student Union and PRIDE student associations.
Lisa earned a BS in Occupational Therapy and a MEd from Dominican, a Master's Certificate in Academic Advising from Kansas State University, and a Master's Certificate in Prior Learning Assessment from DePaul University. She has experience in the academic, psychological, and physical aspects of student need. Her areas of expertise are college level and international student learning. Teaches Mastering College, a one-unit course which develops the skills necessary for academic success in college. Teaches OTL 5115, a graduate occupational therapy lab in which she trains graduate students to be academic mentors for the Academic Mentoring Program (A.M.P.). who intend to major in Humanities, English Literature, and English Literature with Writing Emphasis. Administers academic excellence workshops on study skills, time management, stress management, how to write a research paper, reading for meaning, test-taking strategies, and other topics. Oversees all Prior Learning Programs including the CLEP Program. Other areas of expertise: Students with learning disabilities and those needing help learning study and life skills for academic success.
